Towards A Career In IT. One of the topics that we discussed at our meetups was switching towards a career in IT without a CS diplomma. In order to answer that questions we have invited a speaker with experience in running initiatives that help women without a CS background start a career in IT.

b595d8c687744a783b995a757aa4c6c8_400x400Iffat is an international NGO leader – an activist, digital strategist, and social entrepreneur.  She is the founder of ChunriChoupaal, an organization that empowers women through modern information and communication technology (ICT) and digital literacy. Iffat specializes in initiatives and campaigns promoting economic empowerment of women, having been at the forefront of shaping the policy debate on women’s digital inclusion for over a decade, in both the developing world and on international platforms.She has advocated for the issue at the UN’s World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+10, WSIS 2015 and WSIS 2016), the UN’s Internet Governance Forum and the European Parliament.Iffat’s project Community Technology Center for Women in Pakistan won the Syster’s Award from the Anita Borg Institute. In 2015, Iffat launched The Code to Change programme with multi-stakeholder support from the non-profit, corporate and tech community to bridge the digital skills gap and inclusion of women in the digital economy.
